Add the Tampa Bay area to the ever-growing list of cities pushing to be a part of future rounds of MLS expansion. On Tuesday, the Tampa Bay Rowdies unveiled their #MLS2StPete campaign along with a website, mls2stpete.com, to marshal grassroots support for expansion to Florida's Gulf Coast.
The US national team is on the verge of qualifying for the Copa America Centenario quarterfinals. All that’s left to do: Take care of business against Paraguay. The US will clinch a berth in the knockout rounds with a win on Saturday against Paraguay. They’ll more than likely advance with a draw, as well. Paraguay’s hopes are a bit bleaker. They need a win against the US and a Colombia win/draw against Costa Rica to go through to the next round.

In the first decade of the 20th century Manchester United played its matches at a 50,000-stadium at Bank Street, when then president Davies began planning for a new stadium with double that capacity. A site was chosen near Trafford Park industrial estate, and architect Archibald Leitch appointed to design the stadium.

The US national team host Mexico in San Antonio on Wednesday, possibly the perfect city to host a meeting between the two CONCACAF powers. The US will be looking to keep an unbeaten streak alive against their rivals, but while Mexico manager Miguel Herrera may want to beat the US, he would probably rather do it in July.
Goalkeeper Jaime Penedo recorded 10 saves – tied for second-most in a single game in LA Galaxy history – backstopping the 1-0 win against Seattle Sounders FC on Sunday evening which snapped a two-game losing streak and a four-game winless run. The Galaxy club record is 11 saves, recorded by Kevin Hartman in the 2003 season.
